Staff
Five staff have full degrees and ninety percent of the care team staff have an NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent. All other staff have skills relevant to the under five's or are working towards a qualification in child care.
All staff, including part time staff and volunteers, are cleared by OfSTED to work with children under eight. They go through rigorous checks with the Data and Barring Service when they join the organisation and until the organisation receives confirmation by the DBS that all of these are complete no member of staff is allowed to work unsupervised with children.
Staffing ratios always exceed OfSTED requirements both in terms of numbers of staff and the qualifications of staff. Many of our staff have been with the organisation for many years and some have even been for more than 20 years. Our records show that the staff have over 185 years of service at the nursery between them - you did read that right -
185 years!. This is so important in the continuity of the care we provide to the children and is a rarity in this environment.
All of our care team staff have a first aid qualification, a Food and Hygiene qualification and training in safeguarding. All staff are expected to undertake training courses to develop new skills, and keep up with the changes in the field of early years care
