Feedback: Parents and Children
We at Smisby Day Nursery take pride in the level of care we give to all the children that attend the Nursery. We always believe that we can 'Walk the Talk' that we give to parents when they come to view the Nursery. Often we see children leave the Nursery to go to school and there are tears all round. Sometimes children go from the Nursery to our After School Club and stay with us for another 6 years. One young man left the After School Club recently after being with us for 10 1/2 years!
Many parents write to us and tell us what they think of the nursery and we think these comments are our greatest advert. We want to share some of those comments with you. We wish we could put them all on this page but there are just too many.
In August 2013 I received the following letter from Tilly, one of our Smizkids. Rather than just put the text here I thought I would put the whole letter up here. During Swim week Tilly broke all Smizkids records by swimming a mile without stopping - a fantastic achievement. Thank you Tilly.

I truly believe there is no better place for a child to start out than Smisby, and the results you have produced with Beth's education and confidence have been amazing. It has felt as if I have been leaving Beth with family and I could not be more happy or impressed with every person there."
Julie Gould - August 2011

"I think Smisby Day Nursery is absolutely amazing, and can't believe we found such a warm, loving and fun-filled nursery virtually on our doorstep. Well done to you and all of your team!! Thank you for everything! Warm regards."

"Just wanted to say that we are all really enjoying Sophie’s experience at Smisby Day Nursery – after only such a short time she is practically clean and dry thanks to the incentive of the other children going to the toilet and the positive attitude of the staff. I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you for the environment that you provide for both children and parents at the Nursery and would ask you to pass on our thanks to your excellent staff. We all feel that we have made a great choice in sending Sophie along on a Monday and Friday afternoon."
Kerry and Matt Stevenson - February 2007

Jadie Wardle - September 2005
"A Good Nursery Nurse is more to a mother than a sack of Gold."
Yvette Scrimshire - November 2004
"There is so much we want to say which 'Thank You' simply doesn't cover. Chloe's time with you has been very special; your attention to her has never fallen short of caring, kind and loving. Everything you have done for her, shared with her and taught her has taken her far beyond anything we had dared imagine given her difficult start in life."
Lynn Moralee - December 2003
"Nothing has been too much trouble, and the staff from Baby Room, Toddler Room to Pre-School have been fantastic. When as parents we go to work we put our trust in you, and we have found this very easy."
Angie Ford - December 2003
"You have given Sophie such a wonderful start in life and I feel sure any future success will be down to your care and hard work. Paul and I appreciate your efforts so much."
Angie Bates - August 2003
"We would just like you all to know how very grateful we are for your help in nurturing our three boys. As Jack leaves, the last of our brood, you should know we appreciate everything you do and think you all do a really great job."
Jayne Hornsby - Sept 2002
"Thank you very much for 8+ years! It has been nice to go to work knowing that Bethan and Carys have been left safe and happy - they have had a really good time in your care, and made lots of friends along the way. Thanks also for all the care you've given to Carys with her diet."
Joy Gidlow - September 2000
"Frequently in our jobs, we do not praise each other enough, or recognise the positive. The job that you are doing is the most important one to us - we know that Imogen will quickly become happy and secure with the guidance that she receives, proven in our other daughter, Alex, who attended from 1991-1995, and whose sunny disposition, good manners and sociable positive outlook was largely due to her 'formative' time at Smisby. Smisby Day Nursery is such a great place for children to be."
Isobel Milne - June 1998
"We would like to thank each of you for everything you have done to make Ian's time at Smisby so happy. He has gained so much from your love and care for him, and form the very special atmosphere that is unique to Smisby. We will always remember Smisby as a very important part of his life and look forwards to maintaining contact through the Holiday Club; not coming to Smisby will seem very strange for us all."
Barbara Johnson - January 1996
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of your staff, and especially yourself. Your jobs are demanding I know, but always there is an air of calm and positive activity in the nursery. I have always praised the Nursery and will continue to recommend it to anyone who asks my opinion."
Clare Menday - February 1994
"Just a note to say many thanks for making Ami's time at nursery such an enjoyable one. As you know Ami was one of your first customers back in May 1990 and has now spent a very happy 18 months with you. It is quite a wrench for me that it is now time for her to leave you and move on. I only hope that she will settle as well in her new school."
Kim Peace - December 1991
"I'm sorry to be leaving you,
It makes me sad and blue.
But to say I haven't had a really good time,
would certainly be untrue...
So thank you all for being there,
through happiness and tears.
Big hugs and kisses from me to you,
So long, Farewell ...... and cheers!"
