Full Time Deputy Nursery Manager / Room Leader
Smisby Day Nursery, a stand alone Director led Nursery, prides itself on a home from home and family oriented setting in the rural countryside on the outskirts of Ashby de la Zouch. Quality of care and a safe environment that is stimulating and meets the needs of the children is key to the setting whilst implementing all the components and elements of the new EYFS curriculum.

Our head of Preschool has left us to take on a new role and we need to recruit a Permanent Full Time Deputy / Senior Nursery Officer for 36 hours a week based in our Preschool room.
You will be leading a small team in the room whilst working as part of a competent senior team led by Beverley, our Nursery Manager. Our team have over 200 years of service at this Nursery between them.
To be considered for this role you will need to have 3 years experience as a Qualified Nursery Officer, preferably experience of working as a room leader and may even have senior management experience. The working days will be early and late shifts working between 07:15 and 18:00.
You will know the requirements under the new EYFS and gain a sound knowledge of all our nursery policies and then ensure that these are implemented professionally at all times.
Staff only work a maximum of 4 days a week as we believe in a work life balance that is crucial to all our well-being. From the moment you walk through the door at the Nursery you become a part of our family.

Part Time Playworker / Assistant Playworker - Immediate start
We currently have a vacancy for a Playworker / Assistant Playworker for 20.5 hours a week working in our busy Out of School and Holiday Club as a member of staff has moved from Smizkids into the main Nursery. Your hours of work when you start will be: Monday 07:30 - 09:00 and 12:00 - 18:00, Tuesday from 13:00 -18:00,
Wednesday from 13:00 to 16:00 and Friday from 13:00 to 18:00. You are contracted for your hours so your days and times may change to suit the needs of staffing the Nursery but we will always give you as much notice of any changes as we can.
You must be over 21 and have a full clean driving licence for at least 2 years as part of the role includes taking children to school in the morning and collecting them at the end of the day from the 3 schools that we offer a club to in one of the three Smizbuses.
Your hours will change during School Holidays as we run a busy holiday club which changes your working pattern to full and half days. The Job description is the same for both Playworker and Assistant Playworker. The only difference will be your qualifications. If you hold a level 3 then you are counted as a fully qualified member of staff.
Trips out, trips to the playing fields, walks in the woods, computers, Wii, Interactive whiteboards, crafting, building bird boxes and winning scarecrow competitions are all just part of the fun for the children. Are you active enough to take on this challenging role?

Part Time Cleaner

Part of this relies on the setting being clean and safe year round.

You will probably already know what the job is like!
Working from 5:30 pm Monday to Friday you will start your cleaning duties when staff and children are still at the Nursery and then continue after they have gone. You will need to be able to work alone and unsupervised and be trustworthy as you will be locking up the building at the end of the night. Whilst you will be working alone you will still be part of a competent team led by Beverley, our Nursery Manager. Our team have over 200 years of service at this Nursery between them.
